More stuff… New Brembo brake pads and oil filter kit on order from www.chicagobmwmotorcycle.com.  Their prices are usually 20% off the BMW MSRP and their shipping rates are pretty reasonable.  The brake pads I bought off Ebay were complete garbage.  DO NOT BUY AFTERMARKET BRAKE PADS OFF EBAY.  They didn’t fit on the brake caliper correctly and I damn near fried them on one test ride down the street.  The material was literally breaking apart and my brakes had gone completely soft.  Go with factory BMW, which is Brembo, and you won’t have any problems.

I truly believe that the braking system is the most important component on any vehicle.  Most people are all about speed, but you have to be able to stop that speed, too.  Make sure your brakes are always in good condition.  With my BMW, I have the ABS braking option and a steel braided front brake line.  When I grab a handful of front brake, I am damn near flung off the front of the bike.  It’s amazing how fast the bike can slow down when your brakes and tires are in good condition.  Make sure to take some time and practice emergency stops on your next ride.  It might just safe your life some day.
